Royal Navy
Working with the Royal Navy and marine Engineers Vosper Thorneycroft, we designed and implemented a Rescue Solution for possible injured persons working in the lowest areas of Navy Ships. The scenario presented to Hawk Associates was the difficulty of moving an injured person or ill person from a confined space at the lowest level of a ship, through an extremely tight access shaft and out into a main exit route. The solution involved provision of a suitable stretcher and spinal splint system, design of a haul system that could be managed by those on board, provision of haul and safety equipment and training if relevant personnel.
BT Tunnels
Working with Schal, this project was commissioned to address the problems of evacuating an injured person from the BT communications tunnels that run underground in London. The solution was designed and the necessary stretcher and haul equipment was provided along with training for all personnel.
ICRO Assessment
The Irish Cave Rescue Organization are required by their Insurers to receive an inspection of procedures, equipment and performance. In 2003, this 2 day inspection was carried out by Hawk Associates who were asked to carry out the assessment based on our many years of experience in Rescue and appropriate qualifications.
Safety Cover
We are often asked to provide safety advice and briefings for outdoor based events as well as safety cover for events. Hawk Associates have most recently provided safety cover for Elidir Television who were filming an assault course event for S4C. We undertook the pre-event recce and provided safety equipment and briefings on the day of the event. A full risk assessment was provided and First aid cover and equipment were provided throughout the event.
